Presentation Makes Perfect

At Favors & Stuff, we know how important the presentation aspect of a party is. We want to help you get the details right, so we’ve rounded up our favorite products to make sure your games (and anything else you’re printing or DIY-ing for your celebration) look fantastic!

Step 1: Print on Cardstock

Printing your games on a nice cardstock paper (versus regular copier paper), gives the game a really nice feel to it. It makes it feel more substantial and much more impressive (and dare we say — even more fun to play!).

Cardstock Recommendations

Our pick for bright white cardstock:

Oh man, we love a good, clean, BRIGHT white paper.

Neenah Paper Premium Cardstock, 96 Brightness, 65 lb, Letter, Bright White

Available in a pack of 250 sheets for big printing projects, or a pack of 75 sheets if you’re only printing a few. (Though with such a low difference in price between the two, we’d opt for 250 sheets!)

Step 2: Make Clean Cuts!

Making a clean cut is essential. Paying attention to your cutting process can mean the difference between looking like an amateur or a true professional. I mean, the final product has to be #gramworthy anyway, right?

That’s why we love to use paper trimmers to help us make clean cuts. Whether we’re printing 1 games or 100, these paper cutters make our lives so much easier by saving us time (and paper cuts!).

Our Favorite Paper Trimmer

Fiskars 12″ Deluxe Paper Trimmer$15.99 on Amazon.com (and available on Prime! Score!)

This little Fiskars 12″ Paper Trimmer has made my life SO much easier, and I highly recommend it if you ever need to cut a straight line.

Seriously. It’s so much easier than trying to cut straight with a pair of scissors, and it’s not as bulky as a huge heavy duty paper cutter.

It fits easily inside a desk drawer when I’m not using it, and is perfect for trimming things for small projects.

Swingline Paper Cutter, 12″ Cut Length, 10 Sheets Capacity
$31.25 on Amazon.com (and eligible for Prime)

Looking for something a little more heavy duty? This Swingline 12″ paper trimmer is a good resource for when you need to cut multiple sheets at one time.

Pro Tip: as tempting as it is, we recommend never to cut more than 2-3 sheets at a time. This will allow for the sharpest, cleanest edge!

BONUS: The tool you need for perfect folds & delicious creases

Fiskars Traditional Bone FolderAvailable on Amazon.com (Prime-eligible)

If you’ve ever tried to fold cardstock, you know how frustrating it can be. The jagged edges leave your card looking less than professional.

That’s why we’re in love with bone folders.

These handy little tools (so minimal! so sleek!) help ensure the perfect fold every time.
